The Artbound team traveled to Kenya and built an arts school that will have a positive impact both on a personal and economic level.

By providing the girls at Kisaruni Secondary School with a well-rounded education, Artbound and Free The Children recognize that the arts have an important role to play in helping to create sustainable social change. Scientific evidence speaks to the power effect of an arts education on a child’s person development. Proven benefits include better-developed creative thinking, forms of expression and analytical skills.

Various forms of art such as beading, arts and crafts, song and dance can also be used as trades that serve as a primary or a supplementary source of income – leveraging tourism both locally and abroad.

Artbound and Free The Children believe in providing underprivileged children around the world to develop more fully as individuals and obtain useful skills that will help to break the cycle of poverty.
